Yeah, I know, she's married to HIM. I remember wearing black the day after I read they got married. I was sad that Simon got married. I was in ninth grade.
Who doesn't love Yasmin Le Bon (nee Parvaneh)? She has always been my favorite model, even before she married Simon. My sister and my friend Ariane and I used to read about models back then, before the term "supermodel" came about. I remember sitting on the bus going to school and some lady asked us if we knew Yasmin/Renee/Paulina, cos we were talking about them on a first-name basis while looking at our fashion mags.
The photo above is Yasmin on the cover of the first US edition of ELLE magazine, September 1985. Of course I bought it (in Toronto!).
I was THIS close to seeing her in person at Duran Duran's show in May in Central Park, NYC this year. She was dancing on the side of the stage. But alas, I didn't know she was there until the next day when I read about on the Duran Duran forums.
